Inspiration
Deborah Brill
Artist, Mum, textile designer, landscaper designer. Check out her work - some of it in the dream sequences: www.deborahbrill.com
Nkem Ndefo
Founder of Lumos Transforms, a US based consultancy and circle of practitioners. She is rewriting some of the cherished models of the past and bringing fresh thinking to issues of race, gender and rank. Her approach is "to create the capacity in her clients to consistently access inner safety, to embrace the process of deep transformation and to light the way towards a thriving future." I only found her work in May - revelatory in terms of turning much loved assumptions on their head.
Fair Play by Eve Rodsky
A card deck that has the power to change your family life for the better. Designed by Eve Rodsky and backed by Reese Witherspoon, it will help you have the difficult conversations about mental load and emotional labour - and have you getting some creative time back for yourself.
Make Space for Girls
A very cool organisation that raises awareness, conducts research and ultimately influences urban design to create more - and better - girl friendly public spaces where they feel safe, seen and can engage with each other in the way girls like to.
Melanie Ho
DEI & Leadership Consultant, cartoonist, writer, change agent. Read her brilliant book Beyond Leaning In and see www.melanieho.com
Daniel & Gabor Maté
Dr Gabor Maté's book, The Myth of Normal, co-written with his son Daniel, was a major catalyst in the writing of this play. In it they offer ground-breaking insights into the socio-cultural causes of disease based on decades of Gabor's experience as a doctor, the latest medical research and their lived experience. The unique lens they bring to bear makes visible the connections between addiction, childhood trauma and disease in adulthood, with a gendered lens that is needing further exploration by us all....
Jessica Urlichs
Jessica's Tik Tok on Mental Load features in the play and she has lots more fabulous writing, poetry, resources and merch. A Kiwi making ripples in the world of parenting and the "beautiful chaos" that is motherhood.
Whose image is this?
Not sure where I got this as I found it a long time ago and don't know the source... but it speaks volumes to me. Please let me know if it's yours so I can credit you properly!... Possibly from The.Everyday.Sexism site - I will take a look again.
